Consideration will be given to applicants needing flexible working arrangements and the role can be offered on a full time, part time or job-sharing basis.  Remote working facilities will also be provided.

The successful candidate is likely to be a recently qualified Chartered Surveyor or hold a fully exempting degree and completing their Assessment of Professional Competence.  Oldfield Smith & Co is an RICS approved training practice and support will be given to those finalising their membership.  The role will involve a varied mix of valuation, management and professional matters including rent reviews, lease renewals, formal valuations and rating work.  You will also work closely with our rapidly expanding agency department in the sale and letting of commercial property on a nationwide basis as well as development appraisal and investment matters.  Experience in a commercial property setting is essential, although training and support will be provided.  This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and develop your career in a professional environment which offers real scope for personal and technical development.  There are excellent long term prospects for advancement within the practice.

Management Surveyor

Ideally suited to a candidate with well developed communication skills who enjoys a customer facing role.  You should have experience of commercial property management gained either in private practice or working client side.  Professional qualifications are not necessary but we would be happy to support a graduate looking to complete their APC or a student either looking to start an academic course or already studying towards a qualification.  Computer literacy is a key requirement and experience with CFP WinMan would be advantageous although training will be given.  Candidates should have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety matters and occupational compliance requirements.

Graduate Surveyor

At an early stage in your career, you will have secured solid passes in Maths and English at GCSE, one or more passes at “A” level or equivalent and be enrolled upon an RICS exempting degree with a view to obtaining Chartered status in a commercial property discipline.  We offer one to one training as part of a team lead by highly experienced professionals working on a genuinely diverse and challenging range of instructions.  This is an incredible opportunity to work with some very large and prestigious clients and to develop your core skills, both professionally and personally.  A desire to learn, an inquiring mind and the ability to deal with people are essential to this role.  Experience in a commercial property environment is desirable but not essential; demonstrate an ability and desire to learn and we will help you to develop the skills you need.
