Being a technology driven practice, Oldfield Smith & Co made the switch to remote working as soon as social distancing policies were announced.  Our team are now working safely and efficiently from their home offices, but have electronic access to our office based systems and records, as well as direct connections to our office phone system.

All of our team members are reporting increased activity in the market, with a considerable number of approaches about properties we have available as well as new applicants registering their needs.  The business community is responding to the changing circumstances in a very active manner, with many companies altering their business model.  This change is happening at unprecedented speed – businesses are not simply reviewing their options, they are taking positive steps, adapting the range of services they provide and modifying the way in which these are delivered.  Most importantly, they are doing it NOW.

We have several current and immediate enquiries for offices, workshops and storage units, right across the region.  These are genuine approaches from established businesses who are keen to move now.  Some of these relate to companies adapting to changing circumstances and others from businesses involved in the supply chain for the fight against the coronavirus.  We also have long-standing clients who are still looking for space.  Across the board, we are finding that strategic planning is being given a very much higher priority and as a result, businesses are actively seeking solutions and are ready to agree terms.
