Our work here commenced with an analysis of the earlier planning application, which had been rejected at both Town and District Council level. Our Head of Professional Services, Bernard Smith, spoke with the planners to identify their concerns and find new ways to overcome these.
After redesigning the proposed layout and addressing deficiencies in the earlier planning submissions, a revised, comprehensive planning application was made. The nature and rationale of the scheme was presented to the Town Council, who supported the application. Approval from Wealden District Council as planning authority was granted earlier this week.

Upon completion, the new flat will provide high quality family accommodation in an area where there is a shortage of housing. It has been a very great shame to see this building lying empty for so many years and the development of this flat will complete the Fernely Park scheme”.
