At Oldfield Smith & Co we value our links with the communities we serve and are proud to be long-standing supporters of several cancer charities.
Our good friends at the Cancer Research Crowborough Committee work tirelessly to raise much needed funds to help in the fight for new cures and new treatments to help beat cancer in all its forms. Regular readers of our blog might recall that our Head of Professional Services, Bernard Smith, was given the opportunity to see first hand the research labs at Sussex University which contribute to this work.
On Wednesday of this week, the Crowborough Committee held their annual summer lunch which we were honoured to not only attend but sponsor, as we have done each year since we founded Oldfield Smith. This is always a very positive, uplifting event and once again we were treated to a detailed presentation setting out Cancer Research UK’s hopes for the future and the amazing successes they have achieved in the recent past. The prognosis for those unfortunate enough to be touched by the disease has improved tremendously, as a direct result of the work carried out by Cancer Research and other leading organisations.
Our thanks go to the Crowborough Committee who’s impeccable organisation made the event a tremendous success. We are still awaiting the final total of the amount raised but understand that the raffle and auction alone have generated several thousand pounds.
