Updated following relaxation of COVID restrictions across England on 19th July 2021
Oldfield Smith & Co welcome the progress made in vaccinating the population and the additional freedoms this has allowed. However, we also recognise that infection rates are rising and sadly this terrible virus continues to result in loss of life and critical illness. We are also acutely aware of the potential for “long COVID”, which is not yet fully understood by medical professionals.
As a socially responsible, ethical and professional business, Oldfield Smith & Co will continue to operate safely and in accordance with best practice. The investments we have made in information technology, working practices and staff training mean that whilst mandatory restrictions have been lifted, we can continue to operate in a COVID safe manner and provide outstanding service to our clients. We care about the safety of our staff, the people we work with and the communities in which we operate. We will therefore comply with both the detailed requirements of legislation and the spirit of the Government’s supporting advice, which continues to recommend a cautious and prudent approach to working practices.
Our staff have all been fully (double) vaccinated and we have protocols in place for public-facing work such as inspections and viewings. All staff have access to appropriate PPE and are encouraged to take regular lateral flow tests in line with government guidance.
As a technology driven business, we have systems and procedures in place which allow our staff to seamlessly work remotely. Thus we are able to provide consistent levels of service whilst reducing the risk of infection through home working and staggered attendance at our offices, keeping everyone safe whilst the vaccination programme continues. Our business practices are COVID-19 Secure. As a result, we are still able to offer a full range of services including accompanied viewings, surveys and valuations. We have also added video virtual tours of the majority of properties we have available, allowing applicants to fully appreciate the merits of sites in a safe and convenient way if they prefer.
To minimising the need for face to face meetings, we can be contacted by phone or email and have facilities for video conferencing where meetings are required, using Skype, Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Where direct contact is preferred, we have a dedicated, well ventilated meeting room which provides a safe environment for discussion.
