Oldfield Smith & Co Director and Head of Professional Services, Bernard Smith, recently attended a Disability Confident event at East Sussex National, organised by the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Wealden MP Nus Ghani.
Representatives of around 40 local businesses heard from the DWP about initiatives to make workplaces more inclusive and the benefits that a diverse workforce can bring to business. There were also enlightening and incredibly uplifting presentations by Fern Lulham and Emily Wright, who described the challenges they have overcome and the importance to them of being in work.
