Large increase in enquires and strengthening demand

24th May 2020

Throughout the coronavirus “lockdown”, our staff have been working from home but available for enquiries from our clients and new applicants looking for property.  As a result, we have been busy helping local businesses find suitable premises to meet their rapidly changing needs and have completed several transactions since working restrictions commenced in March.

Over the last 2 weeks we have seen a very substantial rise in new enquiries and these are now coming in at an unprecedented rate.  We have been contacted by existing businesses seeking more space, new businesses who are keen to be up and running as lockdown is eased and a number of companies who have found new ways of working and so have altered their property requirements.  We are still receiving enquires for retail space despite the continuing restrictions on trade, as there is a clear trend towards re-opening.  There are also some very interesting ideas for new businesses as  well as new ways of delivering traditional goods and services.  This is undoubtedly a time for the innovative entrepreneur!

At Oldfield Smith & Co, the safety of our staff, clients and applicants is of paramount importance, which is why we have comprehensively reviewed and risk assessed all of our working practices.  As a result, we are “COVID-19 secure” and can offer safe, professional viewings, virtual tours, online meetings and of course the friendly, informed and balanced advice for which we are known.  We offer a FREE commercial appraisal, as well as active marketing which uses the power of the internet to the full.  So if you have surplus commercial property – offices, shops, warehouses, factories or land – please do get in touch with us on 01825 762222.
